Lori Baker, LISW, is a Licensed Independent Social Worker who earned her Master of Social Work degree from The Ohio State University. Since 1996, she has provided therapy in private practice, with additional experience in community mental health, therapeutic foster care, and higher education. Lori has provided intensive therapy services for children in therapeutic foster care and taught social work courses through Ohio University regional campuses.

Lori specializes in working with adults experiencing anxiety, chronic stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, people-pleasing patterns, emotional overwhelm, and interpersonal conflict. Many of her clients come to therapy feeling mentally exhausted from constant worry, difficulty setting boundaries, or the pressure to hold everything together.

Her approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative. Lori draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), supportive therapy, mindfulness, family systems perspectives, and psychoeducation to help clients better understand themselves, manage anxious thoughts, improve coping skills, and build healthier patterns in their lives and relationships.

Lori believes therapy should be a safe, trusting space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported. She values genuine human connection and considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they work through emotional struggles, relationship concerns, and personal growth. Her goal is to help clients feel less alone, more empowered, and better equipped to create meaningful, lasting change.
